Let's define "DTD". DTDs are the old-fashioned things sometimes referenced in a doctype, which are not capable of coping with namespaces, and make parsing needlessly hard because they introduce entities. :-)
So let's skip over DTD support mostly. Just for the sake of completeness, here is the set of of events that doctypes might generate. If you're using a CONTENT-HANDLER, you won't have to handle these events explicitly.
